Making of Urban

In this Making of I want to show you, what type of technique I've used in my latest picture: Urban.... which is created in 3ds max.

My computer at home is not really strong, it was necessary to save the resources I had to make lowpoly objects, and smaller resolution textures. I run out of resources at the end of the project, so that's why you can't find a lot of rubbish on the street, objects and textures, what I want at the start of the project. I deleted a lot of objects and other things not to run out of RAM.


References

As something borne in my brain, I started to find nice cool and rich in details pictures on the internet. I think the best website to find them is Flickr.com



Modeling

I started modeling with references, and at the same time I started making textures to see how will be look like. I didn't have clear plan for this scene so it changed a lot, before it reached the final state.

Models are simple and I didn't make them complex, because of my computer. Generally I started with simple objects like boxes or cylinders, and I convert to poly and made the final shape. I used chamfer, connect, extrude, weld, cut and other tools to make the shape.

I hate doing boolean so I used connect, or slice plane to make the windows or doors, or other stuffs.
